Look after your GUT

Spread the love

90% of genetic material in your body is not yours it’s from the bacteria mostly residing in your gut you have 100 trillion bacteria in your gut and only 10 million cells so you are outnumbered 10-1 this was taken from Effortless healing buy Dr Jospeh Mercola These bacteria are incredibly important. Alterations in microorganisms in the brains of multiple sclerosis (MS) patients could contribute to underlying disease mechanisms, including demyelination, according to researchers. Could it be that a particular group of bacteria, known as Proteobacteria in the guts of MS patients has been misappropriated by our bodies to cause MS If this is the case then it gives us all good reason to sort out our gut health.

The study, “Brain microbiota disruption within inflammatory demyelinating lesions in multiple sclerosis,” was published in the journal Scientific Reports.

It is widely recognised that the balance of resident microorganisms (the microbiota) in different tissues is important to both health and disease. Imbalances in organ-specific microbiota are commonly associated with disease. I have never been asked to give any samples, I was asked about and bladder issues and I did have a weak bladder and I may have had an issue with my bowles as I was never regular and often constipated though I never sought doctors advice on this to confirm I had irritable bowel disease, which kind of seems to be an all encompassing name that doctors use to cover a number of symptoms.

In MS, inflammatory damage to myelin, the protective layer covering nerve fibers in the brain and spinal cord, affects the white matter, inducing characteristic MS symptoms. But it is still not clear why such de-myelination happens. Some studies have shown that, in part, bacteria may cause this process. Given this scenario why is more not being done to present patients with evidence that diet is key. I was told in a matter of fact way that diet might help but it was not really emphasised.

Finally a Eureka moment see my next blog post…..
